Arrived September 1, 2009 - The "River Rats"

BIG NEWS!!!!   White River welcomes our latest and greatest . . . . . .
. . . . . . ALL THREE OF THEM! Born September 1st: Everyone hale, hearty and healthy

With Daddy's call name being "Rio" and our kennel name what it is, we're calling the new arrivals 'The River Rats'.  So their 'baby names' are Huckleberry, Sawyer, and Proud Mary.

Our dream to breed our Top 25, National Award of Merit bitch CH White River Pixie Stardust, JH  to the 2008 #1 GSP CH Star K ‘N’ MSL’ Corcovado has come true.  This pedigree weaves our White River line together with some of the finest American and German blood available.  We anticipate outstanding conformation and prey drive along with loving and fun-loving temperament.  Watch them grow and we'll see how our plans develop.

Start below with Sire, Dam and pedigree, then check out current all the way back to 3 week photos . . .

Week #9 and the family's last week together.  The boys leave for their new homes soon; one going east, one going west.  We've lost our "puppy names" and now Sawyer is Shooter, Huck is Booker, and Proud Mary is Bobbi.  We're going to learn how to get along in the world and behave -  Bummer!

Here you see our official puppy portraits at 8 1/2 weeks of age.  Everybody says this is supposed to be the best prediction of how we will look grown up.  What do you think?
Can't believe we're actually starting to think about our new lives in our new homes.  Growing up happens so fast when you're puppies.  This week our regular camera crew was preoccupied, so our formal portraits had to be taken with the B team stacking and shooting.  Hope you can still compare our progress - - we had to be bribed to behave!  Then we had a big ole time romping in our former nursery.  There is just so much more we can get into now.
OK, we're dogs now.  Been to the field, been to the vet, hangin' with the big dogs in the kennel.  We didn't even notice our first shots, too busy pullin on Dr. Dave's pantlegs.  Can you see the shape of things to come now in our photos?
Now we're lookin' at our 6 week birthday, and LOOK OUT WORLD!!  We can do some damage and make some noise.  Our personalities are starting to show:  Huckleberry is Mr. Congeniality, finding people delightful and fascinating (he's also the most cooperative, psuedo-paper trained if you follow the "it's the thought that counts" rule).  Sawyer is first to learn how to use his rear end and jump with grace - also thinks he surely must be the cutest thing ever put on the earth.  Mary is determination personified, and nothing is going to contain her or slow her down.  She also has definitely found her voice and uses it "expressively".
Week #5 of the Good Life!  Mom doesn't want to have so much to do with us, but there's this magic saucer that keeps appearing full of great grub, so our bellies stay full.  We also noticed these tall two legged creatures who are super fun to play with, and they'll cuddle us too.  We hear the word "cute" a lot.  The silly girls keep trying to pose us in these stacked postures, which we know is a waste of time.  At our age we're all blimpy bodies and no legs.
